What Are The Different Names for Bike Bars?
A short blog exploring the most popular names for our amazing pedal saloons!
If you’re out and about in Midtown Houston, you’ve probably seen these crazy 14-person, pedal-powered, pub-crawling machines… They are mobile bars with a bicycle pedal system that allows passengers to pedal together while they explore the city. And, as they’re mobile bars, passengers can drink wine or beer as they explore Houston! Find out more about our specific Houston bike bar tours, or maybe check out our Ann Arbor or Fort Worth bike bar experiences! In Houston, and around the rest of the country, these bizarre (and bizarrely fun) vehicles are called many different things, and there’s a little bit of confusion about what their real name is. The quick answer is that they don’t have just one official name, but here are a few of the most popular names:
1) Pedal Bar
This makes sense, doesn’t it? It’s a bar that you pedal. Simple!
2) Bike Bar
If Google searches are anything to go by, bike bar is perhaps the most popular name for these wacky vehicles. We like the double B alliteration of Bike Bar.
3) Beer Bike
While not quite as versatile as the first two names (what happens if you want to drink wine?), beer bike has a nice ring to it. However, it perhaps sounds a little like one bike made from beer…
4) Pedal Party
This name, we love. That’s because it perfectly captures the sense of fun on our pedal bar tours!
5) Party Bike
Similar to pedal party, party bike gets the message across. This is a popular name for our vehicles and we can see why.
6) Trolley Bar
This is another popular name, but we’re not sure it captures the bike aspect of our mobile bars…
7) And, of course, Pedal Saloon!
Last, but certainly not least, we have Pedal Saloon! Pedal Saloon is the name we went for our brand, so we love it, but we’re obviously a little biased…
No matter what you call it, no matter which city you’re exploring, booking a tour with Pedal Saloon is guaranteed fun!
